NASA | GeneralOne of the main questions, believe it or not, that we get asked whenever we have a star party is this, “Can you see the American flag on the moon with that telescope?” I know it sounds hilarious, but we get asked this all the time, and we generally only lug around an 8” telescope to our star parties.

Current EventsToday, NASA is going to launch a new Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) and a companion LCROSS (Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite) impactor to the moon. This launch will mark NASA’s first step in its long awaited
return to the moon. This mission is the first of several missions that may ultimately send man back to the moon within the next decade.
